It’s the
most wonderful time of the year! And with Thanksgiving being so late this past November,
it feels like Christmas is coming early!! Tom and I have been highly
anticipating this holiday season and are excited to celebrate our last childless
Christmas. One more year to enjoy being the “kids” during the holidays before
we become the parents. Next year we’ll have an 11 month old and will take on a
whole new role, playing Santa and forming our own family traditions. Oh what
fun :)
I spent

filled out cards, made peanut butter balls, packed for our trip home, attended
my work Christmas party, and finally ordered our holiday cards! Season’s

This
week, Baby should be almost 18 inches long and weigh about 4 ¾ pounds. However,
my prenatal checkup today revealed that Little Leschke is still measuring 1-2
weeks ahead of schedule, is already in head-down position, and is probably about 5 ½
pounds already. Yikes! Either this baby is coming early or I am growing the
next all-star linebacker for the Green Bay Packers ;)
Either
way, our little peanut is continuing to build layers of fat to help regulate
his body temperature after birth, and his skin is smoother than ever. His lungs
are maturing and his central nervous system is becoming more sophisticated as
well. I was reassured this week that if I go into preterm labor now, our baby may need to stay in the neonatal nursery at first; but would
likely do just as well as a full-term baby in the long run.
But don’t
go getting any funny ideas, Baby Leschke…. it’s Jesus’s birthday tomorrow – not
yours.
